How To Properly Use Essential Oil Nasal Inhalers

An inhalant is drug type which is made out of gases and volatile vapors which are being inhaled using either the mouth or the nose. An inhalant is categorized in three types and these are the solvents, gases, and the medical drugs. Chlorofluorocarbon is one example of gas inhalant. Many types of gases like those which are inhaled in industrial uses and even in households are also considered recreational drugs.

Examples of these are petroleum products like gasoline and kerosene, acetone as nail polish remover, and paint thinners. Other uses of inhalers are for medical anesthetics which are also recreational drugs. Among all, the very popular type of inhalant are essential oil nasal inhalers that are used widely nowadays.

Most of the time, it is suggested to use nasal inhaler in order to utilize the purpose of many types of essential oils in many kinds of situations. Using nasal inhalers can be very effective in order to obtain the benefits of the oils. There are correct ways for using the inhalers properly. The following are some very simple instructions for you to follow. Application varies upon the type of inhaler you are using.

If you are using a disposable plastic, place 5 to 10 drops of oil directly into a cotton. After, assemble the unit and if you wanted to recharge it, you can place a very few drops by the use of a pipette with thin tip through the hole where in the scent is released from. If you are using a bottle metal which is removable, disassemble the unit and place a few drops of oil on a cotton and put it inside the bottle, then reassemble. And if you are using a sealed metal, use a pipette with thin tip and insert it down to the opening.

Personal inhalers are also made available. In order to use it, put the inhaler tip below the nose or below the nostril. The distance must be a half inch, not too close to the nostril. Do not forget that when using this, never ever put it inside the nostrils. And another important reminder is to not put it inside the nose as well.

So to absorb it properly, the right way of using it is holding it just below one nostril and you slowly inhale. One good suggestion is count 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 while inhaling. Count 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 again while exhaling. You can do the procedure two or three times each nostril. The procedure may be applied every two or three hours if really needed.

The purpose of the counting is letting the body absorb those essential oils. And also, letting the molecules in the essential oil be absorbed by blood streams. By this, the absorption is delivered throughout the body parts, even to the brain.

A peppermint is one kind of essential oils which helps in reducing swelling and inflammation quickly. Peppermint is very effective whenever one has a nasal congestion. For the inhaler, fill your inhaler with peppermint type of essential oil.

Other types of oils that are popularly used for inhalers are lavender, lemongrass, patchouli, tea tree, grapefruit, and eucalyptus. The oil to be used will depend on your purpose. Each type may treat different types of diseases or inflammation. So make sure to pay attention to the methods of application.
