These invisible lines are called Prana Nadis and they are thought to supply us with vital energy. Life energy is absorbed with the air that we breathe and also with the food that we eat. Disturbances to the flow of energy will result in an insufficient amount being supplied to the invisible lines which then leads to sickness.

Traditional Thai massage works by focusing on interactive manipulation and makes use of two primary procedures. The massage therapist will apply gentle pressure to the hands and feet along to the invisible lines. They will use a variety of passive stretching movements in order to manipulate the body into a series of different postures.

These movements and postures will align the invisible lines in the body. There is differences between the traditional form and the form that is mainly carried out nowadays.
