Research Of Stem Cells For Skin Care

By Miranda Sweeney

Men and women all over the world have waited for centuries for a way to stop the natural aging processes that come with getting older. Researchers, in an effort to provide the solutions to these issues have devised creams and lotions for faces and bodies by the millions over the years. The newest efforts in this field have reached out into the area of using stem cells for skin care.

This treatment has been shown to be very effective in a topical form when clients used it for three months periods averaging three times a day. Another positive aspect is that they show no indications of any side effects for clients when used either in long term trials or with short term usage. Botanical embryos are harvested from plants for use in many of these serums. The plants that are selected survive in the harshest conditions on earth and are able to regenerate and repair themselves using cellular action.

This type of research has taken many different directions since its inception. Some different methods include using donated human eggs that have been made to believe they are fertilized. The inside ingredients of the egg are then extracted and incorporated into the creams and serums made for people. Another, less appealing, method is the use of bovine placenta as a source for the cellular necessities.

Yet another controversial technique is to harvest the fat from a client, process it to obtain the cells and inject them into parts of the face of the patient. The process is still very much experimental and there have been mixed reviews on the success of it. Inert ingredients used to facilitate the injections some times have unexpected results that have proven to be dangerous.

The field of topical treatments is more advanced than other methods. Nearly everyone agrees that collagen need to be stimulated by proteins and amino acids which decline as we age. Using extracts that contain the potpourri of growth factors, peptides and signaling chemicals is the best way of keeping the natural stimulation functioning. The disagreement seems to be in determining which type of source is best.

One of the more advanced divisions of this research lies in the manufacture of topical serums and creams. Plant embryos have been shown to be excellent sources of enzymes found in the amino acids and proteins needed to make these products. There are also chemical solutions that create the peptides and enzymes needed but the plants make them naturally and are easily extracted for use.

The cell that these proteins and amino acids stimulate is located around the bodies hair follicles and perspiration glands. This cell will remain dormant until it is signaled into action by some type of damage to the epidermal covering of that body. It has the capacity of separating into two different types of cell. One part remains in place while the newly created cell has the ability to transform itself into any other cell needed to repair the body.

The researchers have been making more progress every year in this field of endeavor. Many claim that their products work miracles if used correctly by the clients. We may see a day in the near future when this therapy will be available to every person who wants to improve the appearance of their skin at a reasonable cost.
