The spread of ebola illness in west africa

By Alfred Obi

The flare-up of Ebola disease in West Africa has been in the headlines for months. At its current size it represents the largest breakout of the illness in known human history. This outburst has spread right across a few states and cost many lives.

The Ebola illness in West Africa has a death rate of approximately 70%. This means that seven out of 10 patients to contract the disease will die. It is believe that this number is essentially higher and that many deaths are going unreported inside this area.

So far the onset has only affected West Africa. Other nations and areas have had cases imported in by aid worked but those cases have been treated and isolated. In this fashion the outbreak is a problem that only affects West Africa and those who work in that region.

The virus has been found in six different nations inside West Africa. The nations influenced by Ebola illness in West Africa are; Sierra Leone, Guinea, Mali, and Liberia. There were flare-ups in both Nigeria and Senegal but both countries have been announced free of Ebola virus since October of the present year.

The stop of the pathogen in these West African nations leaves hope for the eventual containment and cure of the illness. Sadly Mali has been the country with the latest reports of the Ebola virus showing that containment hasn't yet occurred. While this is upsetting the pathogen is progressing at a much gentler rate than was originally forecast.

there were a sum total of approximately 18,000 cases reported in the opinion of the counts made by The World Health Organization. However this number is said to be too low and predictions say from this month onward over 10,000 causes could happen a month.

The rapid spread of the Ebola virus in West Africa puts the whole area in peril. This pathogen makes it tough to maintain trade other other industrial relations for the already pauperised nations. Adding to this a large death roll is making this breakout extremely hard on the entire region.
