Some Basic Self Healing Techniques Depression

Robin Williams was such an amazing actor and comedian. Such is the pity we had to loose him to depression. A lot of people suffer from bouts of depression. This kind of cycle is difficult to exit. It is good that many self healing techniques depression specific especially, are available. Examples include acupuncture, yoga and Chinese herbal solutions. The key is to treat the mind, body and spirit.

If you want to engage in self healing, you must first find out your health status. You need to ascertain whether or not you are on the proper diet that feeds you with requisite nutrients. Some mineral deficiencies may accelerate your depression attack. Different patients react differently to these deficiencies although you need magnesium and calcium in your war against the malady. You may seek supplements. You could also go for Chinese herbal supplements.

Another area to look into is the amount of exercise a patient is engaged in. Our bodies crave to make movement and are not supposed to be sedentary for a long time. The level of exercise required varies with individuals. A short and light walk, three times a week is a good start off point. Stretching for about fifteen minutes per day under slow and quiet music is another exercise example. A strong cardio influenced by fast beating music once a day could also be sufficient.

Loving yourself or having a lot of self interest is good for you if you are suffering from despair. You have got to view yourself as a very amazing person. If you do not do this, you will descend into a bout of depression. Remember that Robin Williams was viewed as a very amazing person. He thought otherwise and ended up committing suicide.

A technique to counter this is affirmations. Once each day, either early in the morning or before going to bed for easy remembrance, one should say to oneself: I love myself. I am loved. I am happy. I am healthy. In the beginning, this may sound silly and hard to repeat. An individual must say these words quietly to himself or better still loudly to himself in front of the mirror.

Such a mantra has to be repeated three times for every session. Not believing the wordings in the beginning shall not be a problem. They just need to do so throughout a week. The patient could also author a different mantra that they would feel comfortable with. Some include: I am a hard worker. I am such a loving individual. I am a successful businesswoman. This shall entirely depend on the resonance of the patient. Soon, the benefits of the procedure shall be apparent.

These are only three techniques representing the most basic means one could exploit as they engage themselves to healing against depression. There are numerous other procedures out there you could look for. Examples include acupuncture, oriental supplements and herbal extracts. What ever situation you may be in remember you should not endure it alone.

It should be noted, however, that if a person is afflicted by depression and feel they are at their wits end, they must seek professional help. Their personal doctor should be consulted immediately. They should talk freely to an individual they trust regarding their feelings. This way, they will bring down the pressures of depression.
